What Are We Asking For?

We are asking you to do two things: First, give a one-time offering on November 19, 2006 at our Celebration Service (Thanksgiving Banquet). This will specifically go toward the start up costs of the campaign and to pay off our land. Second, we are asking you to make a pledge over the next three years to begin in December 2006. The timing is perfect because it will remind us going into the Christmas Season of what is really important in our lives.

Please remember that we are asking you to give sacrificially. We need you to continue giving at your regular giving levels so that we can maintain our current ministry levels.

Creative Ways of Giving
Here are some creative strategies to consider when determining your part in “A Place That Matters”.

Cash Flow Gifts
Give on a weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly basis to allow larger gifts to be reached in smaller amounts.

Diverted Funds Gifts
Free up funds that are currently going to other areas of spending, such as entertainment, dining out, dues, etc.

Delayed Expenditures
Maybe you can delay purchases to increase giving. For example, would it be possible to postpone purchasing a new car or taking your dream vacation for one more year?

Income Producing Assets
Consider interest income, payments from rental property, etc.

Sale of Assets
Think about selling assets like stocks, etc. A “gift in kind” (transferring ownership rather than selling the asset and giving the cash) has tax advantages. Consult your financial advisor for advice.

Saving and Annuities
Consider whether a portion of your savings can safely be given to further the work of God’s Kingdom.

Income Producing Activities
For example, hold a garage sale.

Corporate Gifts
If you own your own business, consider a corporate donation.

Credit/Debit Cards
If you can do so responsibly, consider giving a gift with your credit card or debit card. We offer this service through our website by using Paypal. This is a safe and easy way to give. Go to www.rockyriverchurch.com.
